Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of different respiratory supports[nasal continuous positive airway pressure(NCPAP),nasal intermittent positive pressure ventilation(NIPPV)]in the treatment of neonatal respiratory distress syndrome(NRDS).Methods Eighty children with NRDS admitted to the Department of Neonatology,Dongguan Tungwah Hospital from January 2023 to June 2024 were divided into a control group and an observation group using the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. They were treated with NCPAP and NIPPV respectively. The blood gas analysis, lung function, oxidative stress, inflammatory response indicators and incidence of complications between two groups of NRDS patients were compared. Results After treatment, the arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, while the arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2)and transcutaneous oxygen saturation(SpO2)were significantly higher than those in the control group, with statistical significances(P<0.05).After treatment, the respiratory rate of the observation group was slightly higher than that of the control group, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).After treatment, the peak inspiratory pressure, positive end expiratory pressure, and inhaled oxygen concentration of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the level of serum malondialdehyde(MDA)of the observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, while the levels of serum glutathione peroxidase(GSH-PX)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)were significantly higher than those of the control group, with statistical significances(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of serum interleukin-18(IL-18),C-reactive protein(CRP)and white blood cell count(WBC)of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence complications of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared with NCPAP treatment,NIPPV treatment can significantly improve the degree of hypoxia in children with NRDS,with more significant improvements in lung function, oxidative stress and inflammatory response, and fewer complications during treatment.
