Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of early rehabilitation nursing combined with cognitive training on cognitive function, daily living ability, and caregiver burden in patients with cognitive impairment after stroke. Methods A total of 86 patients with cognitive impairment after stroke admitted to Hebi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to January 2024 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group using a single and even number method, with 43 cases in each group. Both groups received routine interventions, with the control group receiving early rehabilitation nursing, and the observation group receiving cognitive training in addition to the interventions in the control group. After 8 weeks, the cognitive function, daily living ability, and caregiver burden were compared between the two groups. Results After 8 weeks of intervention, the mini-mental state examination(MMSE)score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05);the functional independence measure(FIM)and modified barthel index(MBI)scores of the observation group were also higher than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);the caregiver burden in the observation group was lighter than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference(U=2.0128,P<0.05).Conclusion Early rehabilitation nursing combined with cognitive training can effectively improve the cognitive ability of patients with cognitive impairment after stroke, enhance their daily living ability, and thereby help reduce their caregiver burden.
