Clinical Efficacy of Letrozole Combined with Prednisone in the Treatment of Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome

Abstract：Objective To investigate the clinical effect of letrozole combined with prednisone in the treatment of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome(OHSS).Methods A total of 148 patients with OHSS admitted to Zhengzhou Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2022 to June 2024 were retrospectively analyzed,and divided into a control group and an observation group with different treatment regimens,with 74 cases in each group.The control group was treated with letrozole,and the observation group was treated with letrozole combined with prednisone.The ovarian volume,hormone levels,abdominal effusion related indexes and the levels of cell protein factors[total protein(TP),albumin(ALB),hematocrit(HCT),interleukin-6(IL-6)and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)]before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,both ovarian volumes in the observation group were smaller than those in the control group,TP and ALB were higher than those in the control group,the abdominal circumference,body mass,HCT,the levels of estradiol(E2),IL-6 and VEGF were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Letrozole combined with prednisone is effective in the treatment of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome and can better restore ovarian function.
