Abstract:Objective To investigate the efficacy of early intervention on promoting the benign outcome of infants with Graf type Ⅱa hip joint. Methods A total of 81 infants who were diagnosed as Graf type Ⅱa hip joint by hip ultrasound in outpatient department of Zhongshan Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected from January 2021 to May 2024,and were divided into 41 cases in a control group and 40 cases in an observation group according to different intervention methods. The control group was given traditional treatment method(close follow-up and regular review, further treatment was given if continuous dysplasia was found during observation period,or disease was progressed to Graf type Ⅱc type and worse),whereas the observation group adopted early intervention method of"wearing Pavlik sling at night+hip abduction exercise+frog-style holding"and received regular review.Regular hip ultrasound examination was performed in both groups. The bone apex angle(α angle),test of infant motor performance(TIMP),rate of benign outcome and time of benign outcome were compared between two groups before and after intervention. Results After early intervention, the outcome rate of hip joint in the observation group with 100.00%was higher than 90.24%in the control group(P<0.05).The outcome time with(8.76±1.29)weeks in the observation group was shorter than(11.43±1.16)weeks in the control group(P<0.05).After early intervention, the α angle was enlarged in both groups compared to before intervention, and the α angle in the observation group with(66.74±2.64)° was greater than(63.48±1.86)° in the control group(P<0.05).The TIMP score after intervention in both groups was increased compared with that before intervention, and the TIMP score in the observation group with(127.46±4.35)points was higher than(122.51±5.67)points in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The early intervention of"wearing Pavlik sling at night, hip abduction exercise and frog-style holding"can effectively promote the benign outcome of Graf type I1a hip joint in infants, enhance the motor function and shorten the outcome time.
