Abstract:Objective To analyze the factors affecting postoperative wound infection in children with oral and lip lacerations during the corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic.Methods A total of 52 children with oral and lip lacerations who underwent emergency suture under general anesthesia at Fujian Children's Hospital from July 2021 to November 2022 were selected as the research subjects.Their age, gender, wound penetration, preoperative exposure time(time from the accident to the start of surgery),operation duration, nutritional status, length of oral and lip lacerations, and children's psychological emotion scores were statistically analyzed. The factors contributing to postoperative wound infection in children were analyzed, and the postoperative diagnosis and treatment plans were discussed. Results Among the 52 children with oral and lip lacerations, and 15 cases of postoperative wound infections were observed.Gender was not found to be a factor affecting postoperative wound infection in children.Age,wound penetration, preoperative exposure time(time from the accident to the start of surgery),operation duration, nutritional status, length of oral and lip lacerations, and children's psychological emotion scores were factors affecting postoperative wound infection. The risk factors included age≤3 years, wound penetration, preoperative exposure time>12 h,operation duration>3 h,malnutrition, length of oral and lip lacerations>3 cm,and children's psychological emotion scores>52 points. Conclusion During the pandemic, the factors affecting postoperative wound infection in children with oral and lip lacerations are complex.Age≤3 years, wound penetration, preoperative exposure time>12 h,operation duration>3 h,malnutrition, length of oral and lip lacerations>3 cm,and children's psychological emotion scores>52 points can increase the risk of postoperative infection in children.Adopting comprehensive prevention and intervention measures and ensuring the standardization of postoperative management can avoid related risks, which is of positive significance in reducing the possibility of infection and ensuring the prognosis of children.
