Abstract:Objective To explore the impact of trigger point massage combined with rehabilitation training on shoulder joint mobility and visual analogue scale(VAS)score in patients with shoulder periarthritis. Methods A total of 82 patients with shoulder periarthritis treated at Quanzhou Orthopedic Hospital from January 2022 to January 2024 were selected as the research subjects.Using a 1:1 ratio and odd even numbers as the grouping criteria, the patients in the even group were divided into a control group and the patients in the odd group were divided into an observation group, with 41 cases in each group. The control group received conventional rehabilitation training, while the observation group received trigger point massage combined with rehabilitation training. The shoulder joint mobility,VAS score, and activities of daily living(ADL)score were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the shoulder joint mobility(external rotation, internal rotation, abduction, adduction, and extension)of the observation group was greater than that of the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The VAS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group after treatment, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The ADL score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group after treatment, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion Trigger point massage combined with rehabilitation training has a significant clinical effect in the treatment of shoulder periarthritis, with advantages in improving shoulder joint mobility, reducing pain, and enhancing daily living functions.
