Abstract:Objective To observe the application of point-of-care testing(POCT)for cardiac troponin I(cTnI)in emergency treatment of patients with acute coronary syndrome(ACS).Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the baseline data of 40 emergency ACS patients who underwent POCT for cTnI at The People's Hospital of Jiangmen from January 2022 to December 2023,and they were included in the observation group. The data of 40 emergency ACS patients who underwent conventional testing for cTnI were collected and included in the control group. The emergency treatment-related situations(time from chest pain to emergency, time spent in the emergency department, time from first medical treatment to receiving revascularization, and time for cTnI specimen testing)and the incidence of cardiovascular adverse events(non-fatal myocardial infarction, revascularization, ischemic stroke, angina, and cardiac death)were compared between the two groups. Results The time from chest pain to emergency, time spent in the emergency department, time from first medical treatment to receiving revascularization, and time for cTnI specimen testing were all shorter in the observation group than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The total incidence rate of cardiovascular adverse events in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion The pre-hospital emergency choice of POCT for detecting serum cTnI in ACS patients is beneficial for shortening the time from chest pain to emergency, the time spent in the emergency department, and the time for cTnI specimen testing, improving the effectiveness of emergency treatment, and is also of great significance for reducing cardiovascular adverse events.
