Clinical Efficacy of Huanglong Asthma Soup in the Treatment of Acute Onset of Bronchial Asthma

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of Huanglong Shuchuan decoction on acute attacks of bronchial asthma.Methods A total of 82 patients with acute bronchial asthma who were admitted to Zhoukou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from July 2021 to June 2023 were selected and divided into two groups according to the random number table method,with 41 cases in each group.Both groups were treated with conventional treatments such as expectorant,oxygen inhalation,electrolyte supplementation and anti-inflammatory,while the control group was treated with budesonide nebulized inhalation,and the observation group was treated with Huanglong Shuchuan decoction on the basis of the control group.The traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome score,lung function,inflammatory factors and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared.Results The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.56%,which was higher than 85.36%in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores of wheezing,respiratory rate,fever,chest tightness,cough,mental state,night sweats,and shortness of breath in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the first second forced expiratory volume/forced vital capacity(FEV1/FVC),maximum ventilation scale(MVV),maximum mid expiratory flow rate(MMF),and peak expiratory flow rate(PEF)in both groups of patients increased,and the indexes in the observation group were higher than those of the control group,with statistical significances(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of serum C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-4(IL-4),IL-8,and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,while the level of interferon-γ(IFN-γ)was higher than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of dry throat,local itching,gastrointestinal reactions,skin redness,and dizziness between the two groups of patients(P>0.05).Conclusion Huanglong Shuchuan decoction can significantly improve the therapeutic effect of acute attacks of bronchial asthma,improve lung function,alleviate traditional Chinese medicine syndromes,and alleviate inflammatory reactions.
