Abstract:Objective To investigate the impact of ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation on patients with benign thyroid nodule(BTN).Methods A total of 198 patients with BTN admitted to Zhangzhou Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical University from January 2020 to December 2021 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group.Patients in the control group(n=99)were treated with traditional open thyroid surgery, while those in the observation group(n=99)underwent ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation. The surgical indicators, thyroid function indicators, recurrence rate, and complications were recorded. Results The observation group had less intraoperative blood loss, shorter operation time and hospital stays than the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of serum free thyroxine(FT4),parathyroid hormone,thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH),and free triiodothyronine(FT3)in the observation group were higher comparing with the control group(P<0.05).The observation group had lower recurrence rate and complication rate than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The implementation of ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation in patients with BTN can improve thyroid function, and reduce the recurrence rate and complications.
