Clinical Efficacy of Acupoint Embedding Combined with Ethinylestradiol and Cyproterone Acetate Tablets in the Treatment of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Abstract：Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of acupoint embedding combined with ethinylestradiol and cyproterone acetate tablets in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome.Methods A total of 100 patients with polycystic ovary syndrome admitted to Anyang Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital from April 2023 to December 2023 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 50 cases in each group.Patients in the control group were treated with ethinylestradiol and cyproterone acetate tablets,while patients in the observation group were treated with acupoint embedding combined with ethinylestradiol and cyproterone acetate tablets.Both groups were treated for 3 months.The total effective rate after clinical treatment,fasting plasma glucose(FPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),fasting insulin(FINS),and homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)before and after treatment,ovulation rate,body mass index(BMI)before and 3 mouths after treatment,and levels of serum luteinizing hormone(LH),testosterone(T),and follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 80.00%(40/50),which was higher than 62.00%(31/50)in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of FPG,HbA1c,FINS,and HOMA-IR in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the ovulation rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the BMI was lower than that in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of serum LH,T,FSH,and LH/FSH in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The use of acupoint embedding combined with ethinylestradiol and cyproterone acetate tables in the treatment of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome can further improve the efficacy,regulate the levels of glucose and lipid metabolism,insulin resistance,and hormone levels,increase the ovulation rate,and reduce the BMI.
