Clinical Observation of the Curative Effect of Mirena Levonorgestrel _ releasing Intrauterine System on Patient with Endometrial Polyps Afteroperation

Abstract：ObjectiveTo explore the role of Mirena levonorgestrel _ releasing intrauterine system ( LNG _ IUS ) in preventing the recurrence of uterine endometrial polyps after hysteroscope operation.Methods 80 patients suffering hysteroscope operation due to menorrhagia in the diagnosis and treatment of endometrial polyps were divided into LNG _ IUS treatment group and the control group, with 40 cases in each group. The treatment group was inserted with LNG _ IUS. The relapse of uterus endometrial polyp and the changes of menstrual were observed. ResultsThe cumulative recurrence rate of 2 years after operation in LNG _ IUS treatment group was 0 % , and that in the control group was 32.5 % , the difference between two groups was statistically signiifcant (P<0.05). After treating for 3 months, the menstrual quantity of LNG _ IUS treatment group was signiifcantly reduced compared with the control group, the difference was statistically signiifcant(P< 0.05). ConclusionLNG _ IUS treatment can not only improve symptoms , but also help preventing the recurrence of endometrial polyps. The efifcacy of LNG _ IUS treatment for endometrial polyp after operation is superior to simple surgical resection of endometrial polyps.
