Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical value of percutaneous microwave coagulation therapy (PMCT) in the treatment of lung metastases caused by nasopharyngeal carcinoma . Methods 98 patients (hospitalized from May 2004 to July 2012) with lung metastasis of nasopharyngeal carcinoma treated by PMCT were investigated retrospectively in this study. The results were evaluated by the double?phase CT scanning . Results All patients received chest CT scan 1 month after the procedure. Among 168 lesions in 98 cases,CR was 50,PR 44,SD 44 and PD 30.The effective rate was 82.1%.The overall survival rates for pulmonary metastatic tumor patients in 1 year ,2 years ,and 3 years were 46.7 %,28.3%,and 13.4% respectively. Masmium metasis diameter and accumulated metasis amount have obvious effect on patients′ survival. Conclusion PMCT was effective in the short?and long?term treatment. It is safe and reliable in the treatment of lung metastasis caused by nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The maximum diameter and the accumulated metasis amount in lung metastatic lesion had an important effect on overall survival.
