Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between breast cancer and G919A polymorphisms of CBS (cystathionine β synthase) in patients with breast cancer in Han nationality in Xinjiang. Method Three hundred breast cancer patients and 300 normal controls of Han nationality were genotyped by ARMS method, and then the relative biochemical indicators were detected by the automatic biochemical analyzer. Results The Hcy level of breast cancer patients were higher than that of control group (P < 0.05). Genotypes GG, GA, AA of CBS G919A and allele G,A, in breast cancer patients were 63.7%, 24%, 12.3% and 75.7%, 24.3% respectively, which had no statistically significance when compared with those of the controls (P > 0.05). Conclusion The high level of Hcy may be a risk factor for breast cancer in Han nationality in Xinjiang and there was no relationship between CBS G919A polymorphism and breast cancer.
