Therapeutic Effects of Lingshu Taohong Granules Combined with Guilian Ointment in Treating Psoriasis of Blood Stasis Type

Abstract：Objective To explore the efficacy of Lingshu Taohong Granules combined with Guilian Ointment in treating psoriasis of blood stasis type.Methods Sixty patients with psoriasis of blood stasis type treated in the Dermatology Department of Langfang TCM Hospital from February 2023 to October 2024 were selected.They were randomly randomly assigned in a 1∶1 ratio to either oral Lingshu Taohong Granules+Vaseline for topical use(control group)or oral Lingshu Taohong Granules+Guilian Ointment for topical use(study group)for 4 weeks.Psoriasis area and severity index(PASI)score,pruritus scores and traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,therapeutic effect,and adverse events were compared.Results Post-treatment PASI scores,pruritus scores,and dimensions of skin lesion color,skin nail misalignment,skin lesion thickness in the TCM syndrome were significantly reduced in both groups compared to pre-treatment values(P＜0.05),which were significantly lower in the study group than the control group(P＜0.05).The overall efficacy rate was significantly higher in the study group than the control group(86.67％vs 63.33％,x2=4.356,P=0.037).The incidence of adverse events was comparable between groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Oral Lingshu Taohong Granules combined with Guilian Ointment for topical use offers superior properties in alleviating skin lesions and itching in patients with psoriasis of blood stasis type over the monotherapy of Lingshu Taohong Granules.
