Abstract:Acne is a common chronic inflammatory condition of the sebaceous glands of hair follicles, with acne scarring being a frequent sequela.Multiple factors influence acne scarring formation, including genetics, age, gender, microbial environment, and inflammatory responses in acne patients. The formation of acne scarring involves stages such as inflammation, granulation tissue formation, and matrix remodeling. Its pathogenesis is associated with various mechanisms, including transforming growth factors, matrix metalloproteinases, and vascular endothelial growth factors.Current treatment methods for acne scarring include photoelectric technologies, medications, biological therapies, fillers, chemical peels, and surgical interventions. As research on acne scarring remains limited, this article reviews the etiology, pathogenesis, and treatment of acne scarring, aiming to provide references for clinical diagnosis and management.
