Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical healing effect of cryotherapy combined with compound betamethasone injection on keloids smaller than 90 mm2.Methods A total of 120 patients with keloids treated in the Department of Dermatology, the 7th Medical Center,Chinese PLA General Hospital from January 2023 to April 2024 were enrolled in this study.Patients with a treatment area ranging from 15 mm2 to 30 mm2 were included in the observation group, and those with 31-90 mm2 of treatment area were selected in the control group, with 60 cases per group. All patients were followed up after 3 times of treatment of cryotherapy combined with compound betamethasone injection and at 1 year of the final treatment. Results There were 59(98.33%)cure cases,1(1.67%)valid case, and none of invalid cases in the observation group. In the control group, there were 41(68.33%)cure cases,18(30.00%)valid cases, and 1(1.67%)invalid case. The cure rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Scores of the post-treatment Vancouver Scar Scale(VSS,2.35±0.755 points vs 2.82±1.214 points)and visual analogue scale(VAS,0.02±0.129 points vs 0.28±0.81 points)were significantly lower in the observation group than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Cryotherapy combined with compound betamethasone injection is superior in treating keloids with an area of 15-30 mm2.
