Abstract:A case of Klebsiella pneumoniae sepsis complicated with Kaposi varicelliform eruption was reported, accompanied by a literature review.A 56-year-old male patient was admitted to the hospital due to"abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting for 3 days, and chills, fever for 2 days".After admission, the patient developed a sudden rash on his face and trunk.Dermatological examination revealed multiple erythemas on the patient's lip margin, corners of the mouth, and right auricle, with umbilicated vesicles, papulovesicles, and some pustules on the erythematous base, clustering together to form patches. After the vesicles ruptured, erosions formed.Blood culture results indicated positive for Klebsiella pneumoniae.PCR test for herpes simplex virus(HSV)in the pustular fluid showed positive for HSV-1.Based on the patient's main clinical manifestations and laboratory results, the diagnosis was Klebsiella pneumonia sepsis complicated by Kaposi's varicelliform eruption. The patient was treated with sulperazone and levofloxacin for Klebsiella pneumonia sepsis, and with valaciclovir, compound glycyrrhizin, and loratadine for Kaposi's varicelliform eruption.More than one week after admission, the patient recovered well and was discharged from the hospital.
