Abstract:Objective To explore the therapeutic effects of ultrasonic drug penetration therapy and occlusion therapy on hypertrophic lesions of extremities in moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. Methods A total of 90 patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis admitted to a tertiary hospital from January 2023 to December 2024 were selected and divided into the occlusion group, superconducting group, and control group, with 30 cases in each group.Hypertrophic plaque lesions on the extremities were selected as the test sites. The control group received conventional treatment and nursing measures, including oral antihistamines, intravenous infusion of anti-allergic drugs, and topical glucocorticoid ointments. The occlusive dressing group received occlusive dressing therapy in addition to topical medication as the control group. The ultrasound-mediated drug delivery group received ultrasound-mediated drug delivery therapy in addition to the same topical medication as the control group.Treatment efficacy was evaluated using the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index(PASI),plaque thickness scores, and plaque resolution time. Results PASI assessment showed that all three groups demonstrated significant reductions in PASI scores post-treatment compared to baseline(all P<0.001).No significant inter-group differences in PASI scores were observed either pre-treatment or post-treatment(all P>0.05).For limb plaque thickness scores post-treatment,the ultrasound-mediated drug delivery group(0.43±0.50 points)showed significantly greater improvement in plaque thickness compared to the occlusive dressing group(0.96±0.61 points)(P=0.001).Analysis of plaque resolution time revealed that the ultrasound-mediated drug delivery group(4.20±1.51 days)achieved significantly faster resolution than the occlusive dressing group(5.46±2.20 days)(P<0.001).Conclusion Ultrasound-mediated drug delivery therapy is significantly superior to occlusive dressing therapy in improving the degree and speed of hypertrophic plaque resolution in limbs, effectively shortening treatment duration.
