Methotrexate successfully treated generalized psoriasis with vitiligo: a case report
Abstract：The incidence of psoriasis in the Nordic region is higher than in East Asian countries. Compared with other races, Asian Americans have a lower incidence of vitiligo. Psoriasis complicated with vitiligo is common in European and American countries, but rare in Asia, especially in children under 10 years old. The authors reported a case of an Asian boy under 6 years old who developed psoriasis with vitiligo. After treatment with methotrexate (MTX), both psoriasis and vitiligo were relieved. The authors discussed the correlation between psoriasis and vitiligo and the therapeutic role of MTX in treating these two diseases.
