Abstract：As a crucial component of the extracellular matrix,collagen possesses characteristics such as biodegradability,low immunogenicity,and the ability to promote cell proliferation and differentiation.It is thus considered an ideal material for biomedical applications and cosmetic skincare products.With the increasing demand for skin beautification among people,the application of collagen ⅩⅦ in cosmetic dermatology has attracted extensive attention.This article comprehensively reviews the significance and functions of collagen ⅩⅦ within the skin structure.In particular,it focuses on its roles in skin cell adhesion and the maintenance of the skin barrier function.Additionally,the current status and prospects of the application of collagen ⅩⅦ in skin beautification are explored.This review provides a scientific basis for the development of novel skin care and cosmetic methods based on collagen ⅩⅦ,aiming to offer valuable insights for relevant research and practical applications in the field of cosmetic dermatology.
