Abstract:Congenital syphilis is one of the leading causes of miscarriage, stillbirth, and neonatal mortality.Currently, both the global prevalence of syphilis infection in pregnant women and the number of congenital syphilis cases are on the rise. The stage of syphilis in pregnant women, the titers of rapid plasma reagin(RPR)/tolonium red unheated serum test(TRUST),prenatal syphilis screening, and antisyphilitic treatment are all closely associated with the occurrence of congenital syphilis.Strengthening prenatal syphilis screening to achieve early diagnosis and effective antisyphilitic treatment can significantly reduce the incidence of congenital syphilis.Prenatal syphilis screening strategies include:screening all pregnant women at their first antenatal visit, conducting multiple syphilis screenings during pregnancy, screening sexual partners, and enhancing screening for high-risk populations.Additionally, penicillin is the first-choice drug for treating syphilis in pregnant women, and early pregnancy treatment with adequate doses of antisyphilitic agents is crucial for preventing congenital syphilis.
