Treatment of 157 Cases of Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma Associated with Recessive Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa
Abstract:Recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (RDEB) is a rare hereditary skin disease caused by the deficiency of type VII collagen, leading to the formation of skin blisters and ulcers. Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is one of the main causes of death in RDEB patients. The incidence rate significantly increases after the age of 20 (7.5% at 20 years old, 80% at 45 years old), and the mortality rate after diagnosis ranges from 38.7% to 78.7%.
