Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of autologous epidermal grafting(AEG)with overlapping or parallel connection in the treatment of vitiligo. Methods The clinical data of 146 patients with vitiligo treated in the First Hospital Affiliated to Army Medical University between January 2018 and June 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. The 114 cases who received AEG with parallel connection were categorized into the control group, while 32 cases who received AEG with overlapping connection were categorized into the observation group. The clinical efficacy, satisfaction level, healing rate pre-and postoperative lesion area, pigmentation scores, incidence of postoperative complications, and Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI)scores were compared between the two groups. Results The observation group showed a significantly higher clinical effective rate(96.90%)than the control group(81.60%)(P<0.05).The overall satisfaction of the observation group(96.90%)was higher than that of the control group(80.70%)(P<0.05).At 3 and 6 months postoperatively, the observation group has a high healing rate in the lesion areas and higher pigmentation scores compared to the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in postoperative complication rates between groups(6.30%vs.21.10%,P>0.05).The observation group had lower DLQI scores than the control group at both 3 and 6 months postoperatively(P<0.05).Conclusion The AEG with overlapping connection for vitiligo demonstrate superior efficacy, promoting wound repair, improving satisfaction and aesthetic outcomes, enhancing quality of life, and maintaining safety without increasing complication risks.
