Abstract:A 40-year-old female patient presented with a 3-year history of left thumb nail deformity accompanied by persistent pain.Dermatological examination revealed a 0.4 cm-wide longitudinal ridge on the nail plate surface, with distal nail bed roughness, deformation, and partial dissolution. The periungual skin showed no significant abnormalities. The patient exhibited characteristic clinical features including localized tenderness, paroxysmal severe pain, cold sensitivity, and a positive Love's test, strongly suggestive of subungual glomus tumor.Surgical excision was performed, and histopathological analysis demonstrated tumor tissue composed of numerous microvessels with varying calibers. These vessels were surrounded by multilayered epithelioid cells arranged concentrically, displaying spindle to round morphology with pale eosinophilic cytoplasm, slightly enlarged nuclei, and occasional mitotic figures. The diagnosis of subungual glomus tumor was confirmed. At the 1-month postoperative follow-up,the patient reported complete resolution of pain and related symptoms.A 12-month follow-up revealed full restoration of normal nail morphology and structure.
