Abstract:The vitamin D receptor(VDR)is expressed in various tissues and cells throughout the human body, and its gene exhibits single nucleotide polymorphisms.VDR gene polymorphisms can lead to significant variations in the structure and activity of the VDR,thereby affecting its role in regulating immune functions. In recent years, research on the impact of VDR gene polymorphisms on skin diseases has increased. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the advancements made in comprehending the significance of VDR gene polymorphisms in diverse dermatological conditions, encompassing psoriasis, vitiligo, systemic lupus erythematosus, atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata, and systemic sclerosis.
