Abstract:Two cases of granular parakeratosis caused by clothing disinfectants were reported in this article. Both patients had a history of using benzalkonium chloride disinfectants prior to onset.Clinical manifestations included erythematous patches and hyperpigmentation in skin folds.Histopathological examination revealed hyperkeratosis with granular parakeratosis and presence of basophilic granules within the stratum corneum.Topical corticosteroid creams and oral antihistamines showed poor efficacy.Improvement was noted in skin lesions approximately one month after discontinuation of the disinfectants, with most lesions resolving. This paper reported on two cases of granular parakeratosis, accompanied by a literature review.
