Abstract:Objective To investigate the application of subcutaneous pedicle nasolabial flap in the reconstruction of nasal defects. Methods From June 2017 to February 2022,24 cases of nasal defects were reconstructed with subcutaneous pedicle nasolabial flap.A local skin flap with a subcutaneous pedicle was designed preoperatively in the nasolabial groove area and the size of the flap depended on the scope of the defect. The subcutaneous pedicle flap was separated downward and around and was transferred to the defect area. Results 24 cases of nasal defects were reconstructed with this method under local anesthesia. After operation,2 cases of skin flap distal part necrosis, but healed after several dressing change. The other 22 cases were healed in Phase I and the skin flaps survived well. The cosmetic results were satisfactory as the texture and color of the flap were in harmony with the surrounding skin, the postoperative scar was not obvious and the facial morphology was satisfactory. Conclusions Subcutaneous pedicle nasolabial flap is an ideal method to reconstruct large nasal defects, which has a positive operative effect and can achieve good aesthetic effect, and may be one of the most ideal methods in nasal defects repair
