Expression of GRIM-19 in psoriatic lesions and the effect of retinoid acid on it

Abstract：Objective To investigate the expression of GRIM-19 in psoriatic lesions and the effect of retinoid acid on it. Methods GRIM-19 expression level in psoriatic lesions and the effect of retinoid acid on it were detected by immunohistochemistry. Results The expression intensity of GRIM-19 protein was gradually weakened successively in normal skin tissues, the marginal region of the psoriatic lesions and the central area of the psoriatic lesions, the different was significant(C2=49.18, P<0.05). Before, 2 weeks after, and 4 weeks after treatment of retinoid acid, GRIM-19 expression in the psoriatic lesions was gradually enhanced(C2=51.78, P<0.05). Conclusion Expression of GRIM-19 in psoriatic lesions was lower than that in normal epidermis. Retinoid acid may inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis of keratinocytes through up regulating expression of GRIM-19 in epidermis of psoriatic lesions.
