A case of lichen planus in the nipple
Abstract:A 62-year old woman presented with dark red patches in the right nipple with itch for more than 2 months. There was thick reddish-brown crust around the right nipple and the basal skin was dark-red. Histopathologic examination showed epidermal hyperkeratosis, part of the granular layer wedged, basal cell liquefaction degeneration, and lymphocytes ribbon infiltration in the superficial dermal. It was diagnosed as lichen planus. After topically application of mometasone furoate cream and 0.03% tacrolimus ointment, the skin lesion was improved.
