A case of flexural psoriasis in children

Abstract:The patient was a 10-year-old male child with recurrent erythema, papules and scales in the neck, armpits and groin for 1 year. Dermatological examination: red maculopapules with scales scattered on neck around and axillary, some of the lesions merged into pieces. Large red patches with relatively clear realm located on bilateral inguinal region, with relatively moist surface, the scales were not obvious, with impregnation of rugose place, scaly red papules scattered around the erythema on bilateral inguinal region and the medial thigh, and no skin lesions were found on the scalp, trunk and limbs, no abnormality was found on finger/toe nails. Histopathology examination showed hyperkeratosis and parakeratosis, Munro microabscess, acanthosis, rete ridges stretching downward, dermal papilla small vessel hyperplasia, partial area congestion and peripheral mononuclear cells infiltration. The final diagnosis: flexural psoriasis.
