Abstract:Psoriasis is a chronic, relapsed inflammatory skin disease. The pathogenesis of the disease is not clear. It results from many causes such as genetic factors, immuno-inflammatory responses, environmental factors and so on. Most studies reveal that psoriasis was often associated with cardiovascular disease including atherosclerosis, coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, hypertension and so on. Psoriasis may increase the risk of heart disease. Studying the correlation between psoriasis and cardiovascular disease will contribute to illuminating the pathogenesis of psoriasis, and facilitating the comprehensive prevention of psoriasis. The article presents an overview on the literatures about the relationship between psoriasis and cardiovascular disease.
