Dermatopathic investigation and protection of garrison trained in plateau field in summer

Abstract:Objective To investigate the incidence and protection of skin diseases in troops that stationed and trained in high altitude field in summer, so as to provid evidence for dermatosis prevetion and control. Methods The subjects trained in plateau field that altitude was over 4200m in summer were investigated according to the dermatosis investigation program, and preliminary survey on skin protections was carried out simultaneously. Results The incidence rate of dermatosis in training troops in high altitude field in summer was 66.37%. Xerosis cutis (pruritus or rhagadia), chronic cheilitis, solar dermatitis, sunburn, pernio, alopecia and nail diseases were common, accounting for 61.79%. The survey showed that most officers and soldiers had ideas and took measures of sun protection and skin moisture. Conclusion The skin diseases occurred in troops that stationed and trained in high altitude field in summer were different from that in low altitude field, the incidence rate of dermatosis increased significantly in plateau. Sun protection and skin moisture needs to be further improved.
