A case of misdiagnosed secondary syphilis

Abstract:A 45-year-old man presented with one-month history of erythema and papules on his private parts.The patient was once misdiagnosed as eczema and tinea cruris in local hospital.The results of syphilis serology tests showed that:treponema pallidum antibody(TPAb) 123.45COI,rapid plasma reagin circle card test (RPR)1:64,and the case was diagnosed as secondary syphilis.The lesions disappeared after being treated with benzathine penicillin 2.4 million units,once a week,a total of three times.
