Verruciform xanthoma on prepuce misdiagnosed as condyloma acuminatum: a case report
Abstract:A 32-year-old male patient presented a 2-year-history of red tumor on the prepuce,who was once diagnosed as "condyloma acuminatum" in the local hospital and given recombinant human interferon r local subcutaneous injection treatment,200u for each time,2 times every week for 4 months.The treatment was invalid and the lesions gradually increased.Examination of dermatology:The lesion was a bean-sized,lobulated,pink protuberant plaque,with somewhat white impregnated changes on the surface and of medium texture.Histopathology examination showed papillary hyperplasia,evident parakeratosis in many deep V-shape region of epidermal surface with many neutrophils infiltration,granular layer diminished,acanthosis,elongation and crosslinking of rete ridges,many foam cells in the dermal papilla,small vascular dilation and hyperemia,infiltration of hisocytes and lymphocytes in superficial derma.The diagnosis was verruciform xanthoma.
