Flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser(595 nm) for the treatment of port-wine stains:a clinical review of 546 patients
Abstract：Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of 595 nm flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser in the treatment of patients with port-wine stains(PWS).Methods A retrospective review was performed in 546 patients with PWS who had been treated with 595 nm flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser.Treatment parameters were selected according to the age and the lesion types of the patients.Results The total response rate was 70.33％(384/546).Clinical efficacy of the flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser was correlated with patients' age(x2 =4.94,P＜0.05) and lesion types(x2=118.85,P＜0.01).The treatment was well tolerated and the incidence of adverse events caused by the treatment was low.Conclusion The 595 nm flashlamp-pumped pulsed dye laser is safe and effective for the treatment of PWS.
