The research of abnormal scar and the present situation in its prevention and treatment

Abstract：Abnormal scar is the result of excessive post-trauma repairing in the skin tissue, with pathobiology features of excessive fibroblasts proliferation, excessive extracellular matrix deposition and disorder of collagen fibers. Abnormal scar seriously damage the appearance and extremity function of the patients. At present, the comprehensive treatments for the abnormal scar include surgical therapy, physical therapy, drug therapy, gene therapy and so on. In recent years, the development of fractional carbon dioxide laser therapy, superficial X-ray radiation therapy and the blue print of dynamically prevention and treatment have brought a new dawn for the abnormal scar treatment. Both at home and abroad, there are mass notable achievements of the exact molecular mechanism and genetic disability of the abnormal scar formation, which have provided a theoretical support for the breakthrough in gene therapy. In this paper, we summarize the biological characteristics, mechanism and the present situation of the prevention and treatment of abnormal scar.
