New progress of combined radiotherapy after keloid surgery

Abstract：Keloid is one of the common and frequently-occurring disease in skin cosmetic surgery. Although there are many treatment methods for keloid currently, the outcomes are not satisfactory. Studies suggest that radiotherapy after keloid surgery is by far the most safety and effective method which may greatly reduce the keloid postoperative recurrence rate. But there is no uniform standard for radiation type, radiation time, radiotherapy dosage, dose fractionation and radiation duration, etc. The purpose of this article is to review the latest advance on the radiotherapy after keloid surgery.
