Abstract:Interleukin-29(IL-29) is a newly discovered interleukin which is one member of the interleukin-10 cytokine superfamily. IL-29 exerts biological effect through binding a unique heterodimer receptor. IL-29 plays antiviral effect in psoriatic lesions by JAK-STAT signaling pathway, which is similar to type I IFN. Additionally, IL-29 may induce the production of specific chemokines and cause the infiltration of skin T cells, and then induce and retain inflammation. IL-29 is closely associated with the pathogenesis of psoriasis, and so in this review, we discussed the research progress of the relationship between IL-29 and psoriasis.
