Abstract:Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of thiamphenicol combined with compound glycyrrhizin and NB-UVB in the treatment of generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP). Methods A total of 66 cases with GPP were divided into two groups. Forty-three cases were treated with thiamphenicol orally, and the other 23 cases were treated with acitretin capsules. Intravenous infusion of compound glycyrrhizin and NB-UVB treatment were given to the all patients. After 4 weeks, the effect of the treatment and adverse reactions were evaluated. Psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) score and the adverse reactions were recorded and compared. Results At the end of the 4 weeks treatment, the efficacy were 95.3% and 86.9% respectively in the treatment and control group, showing no significant difference(P>0.05). Less adverse reactions were observed in treatment group, the mean extinction time of pustula was (3.79±0.97) d, dry, redness and other adverse reactions were more observed in control group, the mean extinction time of the treatment group was (8.35±1.58)d, and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05). Conclusion Orally thiamphenicol treatment for generalized psoriasis pustulosa is effective and safe.
