Abstract:Objective To evaluate the curative effect and safety of the combined use of sulfasalazine and methotrexate in the treatment of psoriatic arthritis. Methods A total of 75 patients with psoriatic arthritis were randomly divided into three groups(group A, B and C), with 25 patients in each group. Group A was treated by sulfasalazine, group B by methotrexate and group C by the combined use of the two medicines, then the curative effect and safety of the three groups were comparatively analyzed. Results The effective rate of group A was 52%, group B 58.33%and group C 92%, the difference between the group C and other two groups had statistic signiifcance(χ2=10.509, P=0.005). The curative effect of group C was better than the other two groups, but the adverse reaction of the three groups has no statistic difference. Conclusion Combined use of sulfasalazine and methotrexate in the treatment of psoriatic arthritis, the effect is obvious and better than using the two medicine alone, meanwhile with the equivalent security.
