Analysis on 581 sexually transmitted diseases cases reported by Beijing Pinggu hospital

Abstract:ObjectiveTo find out the trends and epidemiological characteristics of sexually transmitted diseases in Beijing Pinggu hospital and provide scientiifc basis for the prevention and control strategies of the disease.MethodsEpidemiological data of patients with sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) including syphilis, gonorrhea, condylomata acuminate, chlamydia trachomatis genital tract infection, genital herpes and AIDS, who accepted treatment in our hospital from 2010 to 2014, were collected and statistically analyzed.ResultsA total of 581 cases of 6 kinds of STDs were reported from 2010 to 2014, including syphilis 257 cases (latent syphilis 223 cases), condylomata acuminate 135 cases, gonorrhea 134 cases. There were 374 cases in group 20~49 years old. The top three occupation were farmer (198 cases), household or unemployed (170 cases) and business service (52 cases).ConclusionThe number of STD patients in our hospital has been rising year by year, and syphilis, condyloma acuminatum and gonorrhea accounted for the largest proportion. Proportion of group 20~49 years old was higher than other age groups and the main occupation was farmer. The strategy should focus on prevention and controlling the corresponding cases.
