Clinical observation of pimecrolimus cream combined with tacalcitol ointment in the treatment of localized vitiligo
Abstract:ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efifcacy and safety of pimecrolimus cream combined with tacalcitol ointment in the treatment of localized vitiligo.MethodsA total of 91 patients with localized vitiligo were randomly divided into treatment group (n=46) and control group (n=45). Both the two groups were topically treated with pimecrolimus cream twice daily in the morning and night respectively for 6 months. In addition, the treatment group was topically treated with tacalcitol ointment once every noon. All patients were followed-up for 6 months, and the clinical efficacy was evaluated before treatment and at 1, 2, 3 and 6 months of the treatment respectively.ResultsThe effective rates of the treatment group (17.39%, 34.78%) were higher than the control group(15.56%, 24.44%) respectively at the ends of the 1th and 2th month after treatment, but there were no statistical signiifcance (P>0.05). The effective rates of the treatment group (52.17%, 63.04%) were signiifcantly higher than those of the control group (31.11%, 42.22%) at the ends of the 3th and 6th month after treatment respectively (P<0.05). No serious adverse reactions occurred in the two groups during the experiment.ConclusionThe treatment of pimecrolimus cream combined with tacalcitol ointment is effective, safe and convenient in the treatment of localized vitiligo, meanwhile with low cost and less adverse reaction.
