Epidemiological proifles of psoriasis vulgaris in Uramuqi Han nationalities
Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the epidemiological profiles of psoriasis vulgaris among Han nationalities in Uramuqi. MethodsA total of 521 outpatients with psoriasis vulgaris were recruited, questionaired and examined by two independent experienced dermatologists. All the data were double checked and recorded by microsoft ofifce 2003 excel. Descriptive analysis of the data was carried out by Graphpad Prism 5.0.ResultsNo differences were observed between the incidences of male and female individuals. Patients with scalp involvement count for 69.9%, while 35.1% of the patients were ifrstly diagnosed as scalp psoriasis, and 82.5% of the patients with scalp psoriasis were between 20 to 40 years old. No statistical difference was observed between the ratio of the older patients with the negative or positive family history. Compared with the patients with mild disease, the patients with heavier disease presented a delayed onset (P=0.01). A total of 102 (19.6%) patients were with positive family history, 413 (79.3%) patients were with mental disorders.ConclusionThe study has provided a comprehensive epidemiological proifles of psriasis in Uramuqi Han nationalities, which could contribute to further investigation.
