Abstract:ObjectiveTo observe the efifcacy and safety of calcipotriol betamethasone in the treatment of refractory psoriasis vulgaris in lower legs.MethodsTwo hundred psoriatic patients were recruited and the lesions in their lower legs were treated with calcipotriol betamethasone for two weeks as the ifrst course, then one leg was treated with calcipotriol betamethasone and the other one treated with calcipotriol (control) for another two weeks as the second course. Photos were taken before the treatment and after the second course. The efficacy of the treatment was assessed by PASI.ResultsThe 149 valid data showed that the efficacy of calcipotriol betamethasone treatment group was better than that of control group which dealed with calcipotriol (t=7.2545,P<0.0001). The adverse effects (itching, rash, and burning) were comparative between the two groups.ConclusionIt is more effective to treat refractory psoriasis vulgaris with calcipotriol betamethasone than calcipotriol.
