Abstract:Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic, multi-system autoimmune disease characterized by disorder of the generation of auto-antibodies to components of cell nucleus. MicroRNAs (miRNAs), as post-transcriptional regulatory factor of gene expression have been attracting more and more attention. Accumulating evidence indicates that miRNAs play a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of SLE. In this article, we discuss the regulatory roles of miRNAs in T cell DNA methylation, regulatory T-cells, B cells, type I interferon pathway, and X-linked genes in the pathogenesis of SLE.
