Expression of DBPA in psoriasis
Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression of DNA binding protein A (DBPA) in psoriasis and its influence on keratinocytes differentiation. Methods The expression of DBPA protein and mRNA in normal skin tissues, uninvolved skin tissues and psoriatic lesions from psoriasis patients were detected by immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization. Results For normal skin tissue, DBPA protein and mRNA strongly expressed in granular layers and slightly expressed in upper layers of stratum spinosum;and in uninvolved epidermis from psoriasis patients they strongly expressed in granular layers and upper layers of stratum spinosum;while in psoriasis lesions, DBPA strongly expressed in all layers of epidermis except the basal layer. Conclusion DBPA may be involved in the differentiation and the proliferation of keratinocytes in psoriasis.
