Clinical and histopathological analysis of tuberculosis correlated panniculitis
Abstract:ObjectiveTo specify the correlation between cutaneous panniculitis and tuberculosis infection. To explore the clinical and histopathological manifestation of panniculitis.MethodsWe retrospectively reviewed the clinical and histopathological features of 252 cases of panniculitis diagnosed at southwest hospital from January 2011 to August 2013. The cases were divided into 2 groups, TB-related and non TB-related group, according to the TST, T-SPOT.TB and the antituberculosis therapeutic response.ResultsThe following variables of histopathological were associated with PPD results: epidermis, different invasive cells, and the degree of granulomatous inifltrates. No signiifcant difference had be detected with the T-SPOT.TB results of histopathology.ConclusionsInfection of tuberculosis is an important cause of panniculitis and different PPD result group has signiifcant difference in histopathological manifestation.
