Status and analysis of pregnancy syphilis treatment in China

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the outcomes of effective full-course anti-syphilis therapy applying on pregnancy patients, and to discuss the prognosis of neonates. Moreover, receiving basis in order to improve the overall birth quality and population quality. Methods Nine case-control studies on the relationship between effective full-course anti-syphilis therapy and the outcomes of pregnancy and nine case-control studies on the relationship between effective full-course anti-syphilis therapy and prognosis of neonates were included according to the standards for inclusion and exclusion. Five case-control studies on the relationship between penicillin treatment and prognosis of neonates were included according to the standards for inclusion and exclusion. The included studies were analyzed synthetically by meta-analysis. Results The related results of combined OR between effective full-course anti-syphilis therapy and the outcomes of pregnancy was 35.34, and between effective full-course anti-syphilis therapy and prognosis of neonates was 12.24. The related results of combined OR between penicillin treatment and prognosis of neonates was 60.25. Conclusions Effective full-course anti-syphilis therapy can improve the outcomes of pregnancy and prognosis of neonates. Penicillin treatment can improve the prognosis of neonates.
