High frequency electrocoagulation of hemangiomas and vascular malformations:an analysis of 821 cases
Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical efifcacy of high frequency electrocoagulation in the treatment of hemangiomas and vascular malformations. Methods Using high-frequency electrocoagulation treatment of hemangioma and vascular malformation in 821 cases, according to lesion location, size, depth adjust output power control, generally between 10~50W. Results 6 months to 3 years of follow-up after treatment, the hemangioma cure rate was 78.64%, markedly effective rate of 14.08%,venous malformation cure rate was 71.02%, markedly effective rate of 19.32%, mixed vascular malformation cure rate of 65.92%, markedly effective rate of 17.49%, ateriovenous malformation cure rate was 11.11%, markedly effective rate of 44.44%. Arteriovenous malformations cure rate is the lowest (P<0.05). Conclusion High frequency electrocoagulation is a safe effective and new method to treat hemangioma and vascular malformation.
