Abstract:SLE is a complex autoimmune disease characterized by the production of autoantibodies and the formation of deleterious immune complexes. The disease usually causes systemic inflammation in multiple organs and presenting a variety of different clinical phenotypes. The skin manifestations of SLE are easier for physicians to recognize, while the clinical symptoms of other organs systems are easily to be misdiagnosed due to the complex phenotypes of the disease. This article summarizes the main clinical features other than the skin lesions of SLE, including the mucous membranes, joints, cardiovascular, lung, blood, digestive tract, liver, kidney, serosa and so on, so as to improve the clinicians' awareness of the disease.
